MVP runner-up Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the way for OKC, scoring 21 points (8-of-13). But, the Thunder got contributions throughout the lineup, with Isaiah Joe (8), Lu Dort (9), Jalen Williams (9) and Chet Holmgren (9) all recording eight or more points in the half.
That trend showed itself during the Thunder's late second-quarter run when Oklahoma City turned a one-point deficit into a 16-point advantage. Gilgeous-Alexander and Joe each had six points, while Holmgren (4), Jaylin Williams (3) and Cason Wallace (3) all tallied at least three points.
Struggling from beyond the arc recently, the Thunder shot 41.7 percent (10-of-24) in the first half and 49 percent from the field (24-of-49). Meanwhile, they feasted on 12 Mavericks turnovers, turning them into 23 points and turned the pace up, outscoring Dallas 11-5 on fast-break points.
