White Sox Offense Falters Again in 5-1 Loss to Rays

He and Korey Lee each had two hits. Lee made an excellent throw in the first inning to catch Randy Arozarena trying to steal second.

The South Siders put runners on the corners with two outs after DeJong's homer, but Gavin Sheets grounded out to end the threat.

Michael Soroka labored through his start, walking four hitters in his five innings of work. He managed to strike out four and allowed only three hits. The Rays put two runs on the board in the second when the first two hitters reached base.

Harold Ramirez's base hit drove in Isaac Paredes. Richie Palacios scored on a double play two hitters later.

However, the big blow came in the third when Arozarena blasted a homer with Yandy Diaz on base. Diaz reached on a fielding error by shortstop Paul DeJong.

Brad Keller relieved Soroka in the sixth, and Paredes greeted him with a 404-foot homer to center field. Keller recorded the final nine outs, allowing one run, five hits, no walks, and no strikeouts.

Bryan Ramos made his third consecutive start and went 1-for-3 with a single and a walk.
